- When
implanting extracted hair follicles from the donor area at the recipient
region, there is some pre-existing hair at the recipient area so due to
it, temporary hair loss can occur (transplanted hair won't fall off).
- During
strip method or FUT hair transplant, a strip of hair bearing skin is
extracted from the donor region for the implantation process. Once the
strip is extracted from the donor region, the surgeon should close the
wound either with stitches or with staples. If there is too much tension
on the wound closure than the surrounding hair on the donor region will
fall out. The hair will regrow once the wound heals so shock loss is
temporary.
- Telogen
Effluvium is a type of diffuse hair loss. It’s caused by the external
factors that have disturbed the hair follicles, across the whole scalp.
Once the external environmental influence is removed, the hair follicles
will be able to regrow. External factors which cause temporary shock loss
are anxiety, chemicals, unhealthy diet, or hormonal imbalances.
Permanent Shock Loss after Getting a Hair
Transplant:
- Permanent
shock loss after getting a hair transplant can occur due to the
transaction. Like if the bulb, which is present at the end of hair
follicles are damaged during the surgery then you may have to suffer from
the permanent shock loss.
Reducing the Risk of Shock loss after Getting a
Hair Transplant:
- Shock loss after a hair transplant isn’t very common. Most of
the time, the patient gets a temporary shock loss after getting a hair
transplant but his hair will soon regrow in few months.
- Hair
transplant is intended to restore the hair not to increase the rate of
hair loss.
- Some
people use some oral medications to control the shock loss after getting a
hair transplant but it’s not recommended as a safe option.
- If
you want to avoid the shock loss after hair transplant then
you have to be very careful while selecting a clinic.
